Mindfulness (and Mindfulness Meditation) is:
- A tool to develop the skill of paying attention to our own experiences in the current moment.
- A quality in all humans that can be cultivated. (most people don’t know they have this quality.)
Mindfulness meditation will
- Show you the path to the “calm center” of life. (Freedom to Respond to life instead of React)
- Invite you to discover the freedom to live as you choose. (vs being on auto pilot.)
- Free stuck energy…(negativity consumes huge amounts of energy.)
- Help you live joyfully no matter what life brings.
Mindfulness is Non judgmental, open, friendly, and inviting of whatever arises in the current moment. Mindfulness meditation teaches us to embrace each experience, emotion, joy, stress, anxiety just as it is…without judgment.
Try it out…
10 Mindful minutes a Day
- Find a place where you will be undisturbed for 10 minutes…(no kids, no tasks, no email, no screens of any kind, no reading…etc.)
Sit comfortably relaxed with your spine tall. - Take a few slow deep breaths.
- Breathe normally, and hold your attention on the inhales and exhales. (If your mind wanders, simply invite it back to your breath)
- Experience the present moment, just as it is.. for 10 minutes
